4.2 traveled to Redcliffe for the 2nd time in 3 weeks, thanks the great scheduling being produced by BHA and Co. The team was full of confidence after a great win against Commercial last week and we were looking to make it 3 wins in a row.
The game started well for the Redmen, scoring 2 goals in 15 minutes, thanks to their new heavy hitting Centre Forward. Norths were on the back foot and the Redmen were in the box seat. The team let the confidence go to the head and selfish play set in causing us to turn over the ball too many time and give Norths an opportunity on our net. This resulted in Norths scoring a scrappy goal 10 minutes before half time.
Half time came and we found our best again, playing some get possessional hockey, moving the ball around the park with ease. We had many opportunities (10+) to score but the frustration set in and the running game was back. This resulted in a mid field turn over and Norths 2nd goal. The scores was locked at 2 - 2 and that is how it stayed until the end of the game.
The Redmen failed to convert their opportunities on the field (off the field, well that is a different story) which resulted in a disappointing 2 - 2 draw.

Round: 3 Game: vs Commercial, 12.00pm Sun 2nd April @ Easts Result: Won 1-0
This game proved to be a tough encounter with defences of both teams proving to be strong.
Commercial had come off their 2 previous games scoring 13 goals and conceding 2.
This showed in the early stages with strong attacking raids.
Uni had adopted a strong defensive position with up to 9 players behind the ball.
Every time Commercial attacked they were repelled with the ball being possessed by the red man.
The game ebbed and flowed with first one side on top and then the other.
After 20 minutes in the second half Commercial began to overrun the Red Men.
There was a sustained period of 10 minutes where the Red Men defence was under immense pressure.
However for all of Commercial efforts there was little impact inside the circle.
With the last 5 minutes Uni again asserted the possession game and were awarded several short corners.
As the time wore on the Red Men became more confident.
Then with 2 minutes to go Phillip Hunter (Chippa) scored another goal taking his goal tally for the season to 3.
Rumour has it Chippa is changing his nickname to Slammer.
There were anxious moments in the last 2 minutes but the Uni possession tactic proved effective again denying Commercial the ball.
A hard fought win which the Red Men thoroughly deserved.
However the intensity will need to be maintained over the on coming weeks.

Round: 2 Game: vs Redcliffe, 12.00pm Sat 26th March @ Red Result: Won 4-0
The 4.2's took the expedition out to Redcliffe on the Saturday.
With the ICB closed it turned into a marathon for some with players leaving at 10:30 and not arriving till after the games started at noon
At scheduled match time Uni had 8 players and a cunning plan was devised...
Winning the toss the idea was for Uni to hold onto the ball for as long as possible until the cavalry arrived
In the first 2 minutes Mitch had the idea he could go for his usual run with the ball, wrong!!
A turn over put his mates under pressure and did they (and wombat) let him know.
Following that flurry Dazz and Jeremy held the ball 2 inches from the back line teasing the Redcliffe forwards
Good passing and possession saw Uni earn several consecutive penalty corners.
This was about the time the cavalry arrived who were shocked to learn they couldn't go on.
Even after the penalty corners were taken wombat was tempted to leave them off.
Following that Uni with a full compliment and reserves dominated the game.
The game showed how with possession and patience oppositions can be frustrated out of the game
This was especially with the Redcliffe A grade coach who played and was constantly dispossessed and was of no benefit to his side.
One highlight of the game was Chippa the goal scoring machine standing on his own aiming to be club highest goal scorer with just the goalie to beat. According to Chippa it was the best save he had seen from a goalie.
End result for the day was 0 goals to Chippa.
The team played well together and a roster is being to developed to start all games with 8 players.
Goal Scorers: Mitch Dallow, Adam Harradine, Jeremy Wallace, Brett Smith
Round: 1 Game: vs Valley, 1.30pm Sun 20th March @ SHC Result: Lost 2-4
Playing last years premier was always going to be difficult for this side who had not trained together This proved to be so when in the first 2 minutes Uni conceded a sloppy goal The pace of the game was frantic with Uni constantly repelling raids and lacking composure As the game progressed the tide started to turn Then in a magical 5 minutes Chippa (Phil Hunter) found himself alone on the left hand side of the circle after some good build up play from the right With clinical legal precision the case was put to rest an the ball shot into the net Rumour has it they were the first goals in how many years??? This spurred the Uni boys on and were starting to fire Unfortunately a poor pass to a congested area meant a turn over and Uni paid with Valley players queuing up to score In the last 15 minutes Valleys finished over the top and went on eventual winners Not a bad effort but lack of training together showed.
Goal Scorers: Phil Hunter 2
